School of Practical Philosophy - The New York City branch (established in 1964) of the School of Economic Science founded by Leon MacLaren in London in 1937. Originally constituted to facilitate the study of economics, over time it came to focus on philosophy, particularly the Hindu tradition of Advaita Vedanta as propogated by Shri Shantananda Saraswati.

Western philosophy - Western philosophy is a line of related philosophical thinking, beginning in Ancient Greece, and including the predominant philosophical thinking of Europe and its former colonies, and continues to this day. The concept of philosophy itself originated in the West, derived from the ancient Greek word philosophia (φιλοσοφια); literally, "the love of wisdom" (philein = "to love" + sophia = wisdom, in the sense of theoretical or cosmic insight).

Type Directors Club - The Type Directors Club (TDC) is an international organization for all people who are devoted to excellence in typography of all forms. Formed in 1946, its mission is to raise the standards of typography and related fields of the graphics arts.
